About Us
Adoption community development project was initiated by the dream of adult male and females , those have terrorized and been abused in any kind off, their freedom of being challenged by social challenges and their life was affected by crime.
The collective ideas of this project are with ID number: 6705155347089 number: 6505300289081. We have started in Majakaneng by participating in welfare department activities by facilitating HIV/AIDS programme, Anger management programme, Life orientation, substance and drug abuse, Counselling, Organizing group session, Planning and implementations, Distributing condoms, doing home based care programme in the name of Ubuntu Life skills programme under the supervision of social workers, whereby (668) offenders has been assisted by this programme in 2007/2009.
During 2007 August, we have initiated a close support group for HIV positive peoples as most of them were in a denial stage and also struggling to cope with the virus and others of them has pass-away because of ignorance. In April 2008 close support group has been declared as an open support group with the name of Hope Support Group for all communities living HIV/AIDS. On the 09th January 2009 Hope support group was incorporated under Madibeng Health department. During our establishment of the organization, We have come across with huge challenges that has lead us to say enough is enough , as we were considering our age and personal circumstances, as well as our experience and track records. That after so many years without assistance from various stakeholders. Then we now started a registered Non-Profit Organization with the name of Adoption Community Development Project as means of uplifting the lives of the most neediest children's and abused women's and children's.
The courage of starting this Adoption Community Development Project was base on the experience; we have acquired through-out the support group and Losperfontein Anti-Crime Awareness project. Life challenges have thought us to viewed life in a different way and to live one day at the time. Mr. Lucas Mlalaze was hospitalized for a period of two (2) years in Kalafong hospital (Gauteng Province being diagnosed to TB, Diabetic, hypertension as well as HIV/AIDS diagnosis). Co-founders Mrs.Merriam Modisakeng have prayed that God must save Mr.B.L.Mlalaze’s life and other innocent people about the epedemic of chronic.
We have also served as management committee from the above mentioned organizations Mr.B.L. Mlalaze has serve as a general secretary for a period of three (03) years at LACAP and Mrs Merriam Modisakeng served as a treasurer taking her position as a chairperson of (CPF) as referred as Community Policing Forum under Mooinooi Police Station .
We have also realized our potentials and our calling was to expand our love, care and support to those whom isolated themselves , that are living amongst us day by day such as Orphans, Needy kids, Old age, lesbian, gays, bisexual, transgender, intersexual, asexual and queer( LGBTIAQ) and Disabilities. We also prayed to God harder to give us strength to assist the disadvantaged people unconditionally. We have also Adopted Majakaneng Primary School as most of the kids are needy they are from rural area also farms and they need our support.( our data based shows 419 and still the number increasing due to COVID19)
Project founders are , and ,We have also seat down to discuss about the objectives of the project and also identified suitable candidate members amongst fellow community members. We have approach several business forums and individual about our ideas, whereby others were skeptical about working with organization, Disabilities, Old age and Orphans. Others supported the idea, but they want us to start the project and they will join later on.
We then agreed not to have a larger executive committee member, and then we manage to mobilize Ms.Suzan Khumalo, as well as Business people and we also manage to mobilize .
We then formed this organization to encourage workshops those affected by Abuse to start take life seriously as well as to accept and respect other human-beings rights including community and disabilities’. Through this organization we will be able to bring together all races and assist Orphans, Needy kids, Disabilities, Youth empowerment programme and inviting community to educate community about every person rights, as according to South Africa Constitution. We also want to celebrate important days with various organizations and also to fight poverty, crime and the spread of HIV/AIDS epidemic e.g. Mandela day, Heritage day.
